ProjectKart: Poster Creation

So to wrap up our summer project, I created two distinct
poster/wallpaper by importing ours assets into Maya Viewport 2.0.

ProjectKart: Main Kart Production

Main Vehicle for ProjectKart

Modeling and Rigging are done by me.

Initial Concept Art by Raphael Nadeau

Final Model: with a total of 9 285 polygons

Rigging Preview (Maya Viewport)
- Adjustable for any character
- Color Customizable

Maya Shader Creation
Real Time Reflection, Fresnel Effect
and a RGB Value Changeable

Quadruped Rig: Scar from Lion King

Rigging Preview (Maya Viewport)
- Dynamic Enabling Switch for the tail
- Simple UI for Facial Expression
 - Custom Attributes
- Squash and Stretch on spine

The model was downloaded from TF3DM: Lion King Characters Kit.
Low resolution mesh with around 3000 triangles.

Note: The Shader was created by multiplying the diffuse
in the ambient slot of the Material Attributes. Making it more "cartoonish".

Small research on character movement and muscle limitation

Skeleton underneath the geometry
With a total of 57 bind joints.

Dynamic Tail Enable Preview (Maya Viewport)
Note: the preview is a bit accelerated

I used two driven chains that were orient constraint
with the main chain. Then by using a Driven Key I was able to
create a  Switch between both of them.

ProjectKart: Caterpillar's Production

Game Character for ProjectKart

Initial Concept Art by Edwin Jang
Modeling and Texturing by Pierre-Luc Messier
Rigging and Shading by me*

Note that shader creation was covered in the previous post.
The same pipeline was applied on the caterpillar.

Rigging Preview (Maya Viewport)
- Two Seperated Spine Chaine
- Squash and Stretch on the Middle Spine
- Custom Attributes
- Cinematic Rig Enable Switch

Personal Note that i took before starting the rig.
Mainly on the spine separation and joint creation.

ProjectKart: Jumpy's Production

Game Character for ProjectKart

Initial Concept Art by Edwin Jang
Modeling and Texturing by Michel Quach
Rigging and Shading by me*

Rigging Preview (Maya Viewport)
- Custom Attributes
- Twist Enabled Joints
- Squash and Stretch
- Cinematic Rig Enable Switch

Fresnel/ Rim Light Effect on the Material
Resulting directly in the Maya's Viewport.

In the Node Editor (Closer View)
[SamplerInfo] Facing Ratio to UV Coordination [Ramp Node]
[Ramp Node] UV Out Color to Color Offset [Texture Node]
Note: The Remap Color was only use to control the Diffuse Map Information

Transferable joints and attributes from one character to another.
Note: 34 bind joints in total.
